Psychiatrist / PMHNP – Medical Director (Outpatient Mental Health)
Innovative Therapeutic Services (ITS) is seeking a compassionate, forward-thinking Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing team as Medical Director. This is a unique opportunity to lead with purpose while delivering high-quality psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and adults. We currently offer remote services with the option to see clients in-person at our office.

Part-Time Contractual · 20 Hours/Week · Remote or Hybrid
Responsibilities
Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment for children, adolescents, and adults.
Conduct initial comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, concurrent reviews, and psychiatric consultations.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
Gather and maintain client information, including social and medical history from clients, relatives, and collaborating professionals.
Order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests when clinically appropriate.
Coordinate referrals within the clinic and to outside mental health or treatment programs.
Collaborate with clinical, psychiatric, and administrative team members to ensure integrated care.
Supervise psychiatric nurse practitioners and psychiatrists to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
Participate in clinical meetings, professional development, and required trainings.
Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field, or M.D./D.O.
Active PMHNP or Psychiatrist license in the State of Maryland (DC & Virginia licensure a plus).
Active DEA License.
Active CDS (Controlled Dangerous Substance) Registration.
Minimum of two years of experience working with children and adolescents.
Knowledge of state certifications/licensing, CARF standards, COMAR regulations, and HIPAA compliance.
Preferred Skills
Experience working with clients with substance use disorders.
Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, EMR/EHR systems, CRISP, and strong written/oral communication skills.
Ability to work independently, stay organized, and show creativity and flexibility.
